Fellow NFL Nerds,

The draft is less than a month away and with a majority of schools having completed their pro-days, I have unleashed my list of the best players in this year’s draft.

Offensive Skill Players:

Sam Bradford – QB – Oklahoma – Round Prediction: 1

The number one pick in the draft has the tools to be a success in the NFL and all that will hold him back from being a successful NFL QB will be whether or not the Rams will field an offensive line that will protect him. There certainly is some offensive talent for him to work with; Steven Jackson, Donnie Avery, Laurent Robinson. However, his reconstructed shoulder aside, his fate will be reminiscent of Matt Stafford; brilliance overshadowed and hindered by incessant nagging injuries.

Tim Tebow – QB – Florida – Round Prediction: 1

I have no idea how this will shake out. I don’t see a team taking him in the first round, however the Patriots are famous for trading down in the draft to pickup more depth. There is nothing I can say here that is more interesting or insightful than what has already been said by everyone in the media. After the 36th pick (Chiefs) he will most likely be gone. I am expecting Browns, Redskins and Patriots to be hitting the phones in attempts to secure Tebow. And Belichick would draft a QB high, Brady is over 30 and is really banged up for a QB with such a good O-line.

Johnathan Dwyer – RB – Georgia Tech – Round Prediction: 2

He plays faster than his forty time and is an absolute banger between the tackles. He will not have a particularly long career with his upright running style but he will be atleast fantastic complementary power back for any team in the league.

Jahvid Best – RB – California – Round Prediction: 2

He has the pedigree and the intangibles to be a starter at the next level and his running style doesn’t expose himself to injury. However, a severe concussion last year knocked him out of the last for games of the season. It is quickly becoming obvious that the worse injury a football player can sustain is a concussion, not that it is difficult to recover from but because it has the tendency to cast doubt on a players career.

Dez Bryant – WR – Oklahoma State – Round Prediction: 1

A sure fire top 10 pick, this kid has Randy Moss written all over him. He has the ability to embarrass a defense, as long as he is able to stay on the field. He recently defended his friend Adam “Pacman” Jones saying the team’s were wrong to criticize him because he has appear to turn over a new leaf. Typically pimp slapping strippers is a fine criteria for criticism regardless of profession.

Brandon Lafell – WR – Louisana State – Round Prediction: 2

His intangibles are there but whether or not he is able to put it all together on the field I have no idea. He seems to remind me or a rocked up version of Limas Sweed, but with the potential to avoid sucking horribly.

Demaryius Thomas – WR – Georgia Tech – Round Prediction: 1

Very talented with incredible upside, I see him as a sure fire first round pick despite his lack of a combine performance due to a broken foot in February. A pure number one receiver with rare the character to match his ability; he could end up being the most underrated player in this draft.
