Bad News for Joey.

Report form Rotoworld.com

Cardinals OLB Joey Porter was arrested early Saturday in Bakersfield, California on suspicion of driving under the influence in addition to assaulting an officer and resisting arrest.

Porter refused to hand over his driver's license in a fast-food parking lot and began rolling up his car window. The assault charge seems to stem from Porter slapping an officer's hand as it was coming through the partially open window. Porter eventually cooperated with officers, though it was too late to undo the damage. Considering his history of assaulting Levi Jones, Porter could be up for suspension this time around. The Dolphins have to be feeling pretty good about dumping him.

I like Larry Foote coming back, with no disrespect to James Farriors previous achievements. And I like Randle El coming back because he is a nice slot reciever compliment for the Steelers. It will be great to put Antwaan and Mike on the field in a 4 wide set to confuse defenses, since I still believe that our former #10 still has some speed (although he will probably do a Limas Sweed impression in the endzone). But I would have loved having Porter come back. I recognize Woodley's talent and Harrison's dominance over his girlfriend... err... the linebacker position. But in an unusually splurging year I had a secret hope that the Steeler's would give Porter a year on the roster. It is not necessarily his on field production as much as his swagger and pass rushing capability. When the PIT cut Bruce Davis last year, the Steeler's lockeroom lost the last bit of nasty trashing talking attitude that made every Steeler's fan smile. Our defense won Superbowl XL, and despite the incredible offensive production of both teams in Superbowl XLIII, I still think Harrison won the game for us with his incredible pick six. Either way, I felt the need to blog about Porter because these days the Steeler's defense is far too quiet for this fan's comfort.

Update: Apparently Joey is off the hook, with the police involved in his arrest being investigated for police brutality. Sorry Joey.
