The NFL Insanity Test: Try to Watch an Entire Game.

On Sunday, November 14th, the Cleveland Browns and New York Jets ended game regulation with a tied game at 20. National audiences were shown approximately 3 minutes of over time and then NFL commentator James Brown came on TV and told us that “according to NFL rules, we have a 4:15 rule, and we need to move on to the post game show.” While I personally do not understand why there is a rule created by the NFL that says that we cannot watch an overtime game, and must instead watch these over the hill athletes make game highlight commentary. But beyond that, the COMMENTATORS ARE WATCHING THE GAME WHILE WE WATCH THEM. THEY ARE WATCHING THE GAME OFF SCREEN, AND TELLING US WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE GAME. WE AREN’T ABLE TO SEE IT, BUT THEY ARE!!! AND WHEN SOMETHING INTERESTING HAPPENS, THEY SHOW THE REPLAY OF THAT SPECIFIC PLAY AND COMMENT ON IT! WHAT MANIAC CAME UP WITH THIS IDEA?! I have come to the conclusion that I all I can do to help temper my own resentment against this insanity, is to personally boycott any products advertised during the post game show for the foreseeable future. I will not use my PNC credit card, I will not drink Coors Light (no one with tastebuds does anyway), and I refuse to entertain the idea of buying a Lexus (not that I can afford one).
It won’t matter in the grand scheme of things, but I will feel less like a fool tolerating these imbeciles. This is ridiculous! The are watching the game and we have to watch them watch it. WHAT IS THE NFL THINKING! After about 10 minutes of overtime, they commentators finally say, “oh, Santino Holmes does it again! Let’s take you to the aftermath of the game.” WHAT! HOLMES DID WHAT? A MAGIC TRICK? DID HE PULL FLOWERS OUT OF HIS SLEEVE? DON’T SHOW US THE GAME, WAIT TILL IT’S OVER AND THEN SHOW US EVERYONE MILLING AROUND ON THE FIELD!! ARE THESE PEOPLE OUT OF THEIR MINDS!!! AND THE COMMENTATOR ON THE BROWNS AND JETS GAME GOES, “and now to the post game show with JV, Boom, etc.” NOT NOW! HAVE BEEN!!! HAVE BEEN WATCHING THEM ENJOY WATCHING THE GAME IN OVERTIME!!! THIS IS BY FAR THE MOST INFURIATING THING I HAVE EVER ENDURED WHILE BEING "ENTERTAINED."
